Ringling College of Art and Design is a private, not-for-profit, fully accredited college offering the Bachelor's degree in 14 disciplines: Advertising Design, Business of Art & Design, Computer Animation, Digital Film, Fine Arts, Game Art & Design, Graphic & Interactive Communication, Illustration, Interior Design, Motion Design, Painting, Photography & Digital Imaging, Printmaking and Sculpture. The College is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design [AICAD] and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design [NASAD], the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree [SACS], and by the First Professional Degree Level by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation [CIDA], formerly [FIDER].
Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the picturesque 35-acre campus now includes 90 buildings, and attracts close to 1,100 students from 43 states and 23 foreign countries. It is recognized as being among the best and most innovative visual arts colleges in the United States as well as a leader in the use of technology in the arts. With a better than 2:1 student to computer ratio, Ringling College’s computing infrastructure rivals even that of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology [MIT].
Potential students pursuing admission to Ringling College, as well as art teachers, guidance counselors and others are encouraged to visit the campus for a personal tour hosted by one of our Office of Admissions staff. It's impossible to appreciate all the ways Ringling College inspires creativity just by reading about it. You need to experience it for yourself.
Visit our beautiful campus. Have lunch with some students and faculty. Check out our studios and residence halls. Observe a class or two. It is the best way for you to really get a feel for the true Ringling College "personality" and imagine what life here is like. Aside from the degree program, Ringling College offers a number of opportunities for the community to visit our campus, view wonderful art exhibitions, and study as lifelong learners.
Community members not pursuing admission to Ringling College are invited to contact our Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 941.359.7673 for information on our "Follow the Dream" tour schedule – a “behind-the-scenes” visit of the College campus. You will talk with students and see them in action by attending classes, visit the Verman Kimbrough Memorial Library, see student artwork in our main administration building, the Keating Center, and view an exhibition at Ringling College's Selby Gallery.
You can also take advantage of Ringling College’s Selby Gallery – Sarasota’s premier gallery for contemporary art. Each year, the Gallery brings the work of nationally and internationally known artists, illustrators, photographers, sculptors, and designers to Sarasota.
High school juniors and seniors can immerse themselves in the college environment during our 4-week long PreCollege Perspective program in preparation for their entrance into an art and design college.
More than 2,000 students attend teen and adult Community Art classes and workshops throughout the year, as well as many other art and travel programs through the Continuing Studies and Special Programs [CSSP] office.
